Production Log Three

Production Log Week Three
This was the last week of me doing my advert so I was literally editing the whole week and putting everything together. I finished editing my advert by the friday and also started looking at others things I could do once the advert was finished in terms of editing. So overall I achieved my aims and made a lot of progress.

The main challenges I faced were the same things I had problems with the week before when I was editing I felt like I did not have enough footage that went together as a lot of it looked like it was jump cutting. So this limited to the amount of shots I could have used. Another problem that occured was that when I was finishing my advert it had gone over the set set of 30 seconds which bad it hard for me to cut down on some shots.

Once I done this I let my teachers look at it and they both had different things that they wanted me to change however it was only one aspect that was proven to be challenging which was my teacher wanted a close up shot which I hadn't filmed this meant I had to wire frame my video to zoom it in but this eft teh quality very low so I had to put it in between so the shot was close but not too close taht teh quality went bad. So this was overcomed in that sense.

As this is my last week of adverts I only plan to make sure all outstanding work is done to its best and my evalution would need to be completed.

Production Log Two

Production Log Week Two

At the end of this week I have now finished all my filming and all my pre production work. I filmed my advert with Tyra (The dancer) and the two judges. This was good and worked out well overall. So the main progress I have made this week is now I have finished all my filming and work which leaves me a whole week for editing and evalution. So since the last week I had made a big progress.

The main challeng I faced was during the filming as I did not realise how difficult it would be. I first started of with filming according to my script of different shots and I realised it was not working as I kept filming each move at different places which would of made it seem like Tyra was jumping from different poistions. This would make it harder for me to edit. So I had to fix the problem and made the dancer repeat the routine around 8 times so I could get different shots from different angles which would of helped me edit it together later on.

I also faced another problem as on the day of filming the dancer forgot her ballet shoes which meant my first shot had to be scrapped as it was suppose to show just the shoes. This was easily fixed but made the advert look less effective. So both of these problems were overcome.

The technical challanges I found would mostly be with the camera as a lot of the shots had to be filmed by hand which meant it was really important that I had to try and stop the camera from look like its shaking. However this was not a major problem as I could film most stuff with the tripod.

Before my next entry I aim to unload all my footage and complete the editing within a week as the editing process should not take too long.

Production Week One

Production Log Week One
This week I was gievn the chocolate bar that I would be making an advert on and this was a Flake. So this week I looked mainly at past adverts of Flakes which allowed me to understand the following things:
-The Target Audience (Females)
-The conventions (Using Females)
-Most adverts use a sexual tone
This helped me get an idea of what I could put in to my advert and helped me plan for later on in the week. Once I done this I was given all the pre-production work which consisted of; cast list, crew list, voice over script, storyboard, location recee and risk assessment. So I decided these were the things I wanted to work on the first week so the second week I had time to film.

As I constantly kept changing those people that would be in my advert I had to keep changing my cast list. This was important as I did not want someone in my advert who would not be reliable and turn up on time and on the day. I overcame these implications by changing my main dancer to someone who was more trustworthy which helped m get things done quicker.

I did not face any technical challanges this week as I was just doing pre-production work which consisted of work documents which were simple.

Next week I have givn my self the targt of going out to film on thursday and before that day I will use my time by gathring my music together that I want. I also kept checking over my work to see if it all made sens. This was usful as the actress in my advert was only available for the thursday which meant I had to spend my time wisely.
